In my short time as an assistant teacher for Intro to Poetry, one of the questions that kept popping up with my students was whether or not poetry had to be autobiographical. There seems to be a general assumption that whatever a poet writes is truthful.

We recently sent out our first wave of letters.

I’m going to use this post to serve as a reminder that if we’re taking a little longer to get back to you, then it’s probably a good thing. Due to the volume of submissions, it can take some time! With Issue #2, though, we’re going to try and reduce the amount of time it takes to get back to the people whose work we would like to accept. So keep an eye out.
